HOW TO GET THERE
Soros is a mountain that dominates the area. The Soros route is a perfect path, able to stimulate the mind, heart and body because of the incomparable beauty of wild nature and the constant challenge to the hiker who wants to conquer it.
We start following the same route «ΗARAKAS» to point 5 of this. From there we continue straight ahead to point 1- a large water tank of the route – .Continuing the uphill dirt road the slope of the terrain is even steeper to point 2 and the beauty of the wild nature enchants you.
For a few meters the road is straight until we reach point 3, an old stone house on our left .It is called «Mitato» in Cretan dialect which means a shepherd house in the old times making cheese.
We continue straight uphill until we reach a junction point 4. From there we turn right following the down hill dirt road to point 5 where we turn right again to an uphill path to point 6 where we see an underground reservoir of rainwater called «Sarnitsi» in Cretan dialect . At this point we are able to see clearly the top of the mt. Soros. Following a rocky path to west direction in about one hour we reach the top (1.180m) point 7. The whole route is uphill except for the 4 to point 5
A more demanding route. As the altitude is higher you experience the ultimate freedom and all senses are filled by the nature fullness.
